Granada is well know on mundial bases because of the Alhambra and because is the place Federico García Lorca was born and killed. In autor 1898, in Fuente Vaqueros, a little town in the Vega of Granada, was born the poet the would write "Romancero Gitano", "Poeta en Nueva York" or "La Casa de Bernarda Alba".
In 1936 turing the first days of the civil war, García Lorca was arrested by the fascists and later he was shoot on a road outsider of Granada. His grave is together with other of thousands of republicans in the Barranco de Viznar, under a centenary olive tree that can be visit and ther the festival pay tribute the poet every year. The Festival reads his poems in the Lorca´s places and the price with his name.
The different views of the Alhambra from the city are one of the mayor attractions of Granada, and is the monument that receives more visitors in the whole Spain. It was declare patrimony of the humanity by the UNESCO together with the barrio del Albaicín, from which you get magnificent views from the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada.

Huerta de San Vicente
Summer resident of the Garcia Lorca´s family. Today is the house museum dedicate to the poet, where you can see his writing bedroom and some of his personal possessions. This is the place where the festival is inaugurate with poetic lectures and flamenco.
Fundación Rodriguez Acosta
Is a house with garden situated in the hills of the Alhambra, with several water pools and a magnificent library.
La Tertulia
This bar, manager by an argentinean immigrant, received personalities as Borges and Alberti, and in the 80´s was a very important meeting point for poets and artists. Still today some late nights gives tango and poetry shows .
La Casa de los Tiros
Converted into a museum, today holds most of the recitals of the city.
El Palacio de los Córdova
Situated on the feet of the Alhambra, this place gives from its garden a splendorous view of the monument and is just at the entrance of the Sacromonte, one of the most touristy places of town.
El Carmen de los Mártires
Is a mythical place for the mundial potril, inside its doors, San Juan de la Cruz wrote his Cántico espiritual and Jose Zorrilla wrote some of his poems, once he got the fame with Don Juan Tenorio. The view to the city and the mystical atmosphere makes the place a magic spot on the hill of the Alhambra.
El Teatro Isabel la Cátolica
Is one of he most popular and characteristically places of Granada. Right in the centre of the city, holds is classical cut with a wide scenario and orchestra seat.
